A PILOT 'on the spot' fine scheme is currently underway in the West Midlands Police Force area.
The aim is to curb anti-social behaviour. Police can impose fixed penalty notices for certain types of offence eg alarm or harassment, being drunk in a public place, or throwing fireworks. British Transport Police are also taking part in the scheme within West Midlands railways.
Offenders will be able to pay by post, but it they deny the charge they can elet to go to court.
The fines are £80 or £40 depending on the severity of the offence.
CAB have full details of court procedures and access to legal advice.
CAB are at 50-52 Birmingham Road, Bromsgrove (opposite the Rovers' Football Ground).
