A PLAN has been hatched to make living in Headless Cross a more pleasant experience for residents.
An environmental sub-group of residents formed several months ago joined forces with Nat Healey, Redditch Council's landscaping and countryside manager, to compile a schedule of work to clean up the area.
The plan covers numerous aspects of landscaping, amenities and plans to improve the general state of the area.
The help of the British Trust for Conservation Volunteers (BTCV) has also been enlisted to steer the volunteers in the right direction.
The BTCV is a UK charity which works with people within their own communities to bring about positive environmental change.
The group of residents will be looking at hedge height, additional seating, dog fouling, floral enhancements, absence of play areas and additional sports facilities in Birchfield Road.
Mr Healey said: "On Saturday, November 23, and the following day, residents are invited to meet up and we'll start going around the area improving it for everyone with the help of the BTCV."
Residents wishing to take part can meet at a pick-up point at Redditch train station at 9.30am or meet at Birchfield Road playing fields at 10am.
The group also wants to get sponsorship from businesses to help out with floral enhancements.
