A WORCESTER man died after working with asbestos 35 years ago, an inquest has heard.
Retired revenue officer Robert Rees died at the Worcestershire Royal Hospital on Tuesday, August 13, from a lung disease which left him struggling for breath.
Worcestershire coroner Victor Round told yesterday's inquest Mr Rees showed the same symptoms as those who had been exposed to asbestos, although few asbestos bodies had been found in his lungs.
The 62-year-old, of Mortlake Avenue, Worcester, had worked with green asbestos 35 years ago.
A verdict of death by industrial disease was recorded.
