NEW Labour has attacked the middle classes and all the working people far more than any other government in modern times.
New Labour has increased taxes on everyone - even holidays and transport, has undermined every single person's pensions, threatened independent schools and universities and devalued family life.
And, despite all protestations to the contrary, it has brought our rail system into chaos, created gridlock in virtually every city, and left the health and education systems in a shambles.
My words? No, these are the reported words of a previous Labour MP.
We now know that New Labour intends to close thousands of Post Offices, a lifeline to many of the less fortunate.
We now are seeing the real New Labour.
