A NEWCOMER to the Malvern Wells Players is starring in the title role of their forthcoming production, Sylvia.
Seventeen-year-old Hayley Webb is to fill the shoes of Jessica Mary Parker, who played the role when the comedy premired at the Manhattan Theatre Club in 1995.
Mike Fray takes the part of Greg, a financial trader whose career is winding down as he moves to Manhattan with his wife, Kate (Chrissie Bemand).
Kate's career as a public school English teacher is just beginning to offer her more opportunities when Sylvia comes into their lives.
Evan Peach, Mary Timms and Val Greaves also star in the production, with Mike Jackson in the director's chair.
Performances will take place at 7.30pm on Thursday, Friday and Saturday (October 24-6) in Malvern Wells Village Hall.
Tickets, priced £3.50, are available from Malvern Wells Village Shop or the players themselves.
