ENGLAND goalkeeping legend Peter Shilton MBE, OBE, is coming to Malvern College in November to give a presentation and a question and answer session.
Shilton started his career as the youngest player to represent Leicester City at a mere 16, taking over from the equally legendary Gordon Banks. He went on to play for Stoke City, Notts Forest, Southampton, Derby County, Plymouth Argyle, Bolton Wanderers and Leyton Orient having made a record 1,005 league appearances. He gained 105 England caps and starred in three World Cups, perhaps most remembered for the 'hand of God' goal scored by Maradona.
Shilton will be reminiscing on this and other memories in a football evening, which will include a buffet dinner, side shows, computer games and penalty shoot outs.
The event is at Malvern College on Friday, November 1 at 7.30pm and will be compered by ex-Radio One's David 'Kid' Jensen.
Tickets (£18) can be obtained from Andy Murtagh at Malvern College, tel (01684) 581565. Proceeds from the evening go towards future college sports tours.
