MALVERN Rugby Club are taking advantage of a week's respite from League and Cup duties to have a close look at some of their up and coming youngsters tomorrow (Saturday).

With several seniors unavailable, the coaching team have decided to field an 'A' team against Dudley-Kingswinford 2nd XV at Spring Lane (3pm).

George Blakeway skippers a side that heavily features the University College Worcester contingent. Ben Hames partners Chris Smith in the second row, Nick Smith, formerly at Burton RFC, is at open side flanker, whilst Matt Radley from Cardigan is at number eight. Simon Kelly partners Blakeway at stand off. Ben Hughes comes back on the wing, whilst the UCW trio of Allcott, Coulston and Isaac, who have already impressed the Spring Lane faithful, cover the centre and full back position. Students Lovegrove, Lillywhite and Annandale form the replacements bench line-up.

Director of rugby David Robins said: "A rare friendly game gives us the opportunity to look at some of the younger squad members who have been impressive at training and in the second team. With a long, hard season in front of us we need to know exactly what our cover is like, as injuries and wear and tear are inevitable. With DK's team boasting several of their National League squad, this game is going to be a good test of our squad's depth."
