HARBORNE 1, MALVERN 9

MALVERN gave a stunning performance when they met Harborne at Hadley Stadium, Birmingham, from the very beginning they took control of the game.

Kerry Tudge scored the first goal from a well placed cross from just outside the D. Harborne equalised within minutes. Malvern then set the standard of hockey that was to continue throughout the remainder of the match. Emily Price pushed the next over the line with Sophie Wood knocking in Malvern's third just before half time.

At the opening of the second half Malvern kept the pressure on with both attack and midfield players keeping the ball just outside the D in Harborne's half. The goals came thick and fast, Amy Forsyth scoring a hat-trick, both Emily Swainswood and Katie Martin also managed to score.

In the final minutes Sophie hit the back of the net for the second time from a short corner.

Man of the match was Amy Forsyth.

Tomorrow's (Saturday) match is a friendly against Badsey at Redditch, meet 9am at the Chase school.
