A plan for an extra satellite dish at Malvern Transmitter Station has been submitted to the district council.
The 0.6-metre wide dish and various antennas would be located 20 metres up the mast, which towers over Worcester Road.
The application is by site owner Crown Castle, on behalf of the phone company Orange. A spokesman for Crown Castle said the additions would allow the mast to carry the new 3G phone service and send signals to another site in Worcestershire. He said that the appearance of the mast would not be dramatically altered.
Malvern Hills District Council will consider the application in due course.
