OAK APPLE 2,

MALVERN PREMIERS 4

MALVERN Premiers notched up their fourth consecutive win when they beat the Oak Apple 4-2 in the Worcester League Division Two last Sunday.

The Prems got off to a good start and after just nine minutes Jamie Abba crossed the ball into the box for Lee Henderson to bring down and blast into the top right hand corner. Fifteen minutes later Adam Benkwitz's cross gave Abba the chance to claim his first goal.

The Prems then seemed to lose control of the game with the Oak showing more determination. Their efforts were rewarded one minute before half time to make the score 2-1 at the break.

It was the Oak who dominated the first part of the second half and they scored their second. But the Prems got back into the game when Abba made a fine break and slotted the ball past the keeper to give the Prems a 3-2 lead.

Derick Brown's relentless efforts in midfield then gave Henderson his opportunity to score the Prem's fourth. The welcome return of Dan Stone to the Prems was almost marked by a fifth goal in the last few minutes when his header over the top of the keeper was just knocked away on the line, leaving the final tally at 4-2 to the Prems.

The Prems are at home this Sunday against Malvern Radar. Players to meet at Lower Howsell at 9.45am.
