POWICK, playing uphill and against the wind in this Worcester Saturday Premier Division game, found it hard going for the first 20 minutes.
POWICK 5, INKBERROW A 1
Halfway through the first half Powick were awarded a penalty after Steve Hadley was brought down and Bryan Craven scored from the spot. For the remainder of the first half Inkberrow's defence played well and were able to cope with any attacks.
The second half was mainly all one way. Powick got their second goal on 56 minutes when Chris Golding scored the best goal of the match. Three minutes later Powick made it 3-0 when Steve Hadley stabbed the ball home from close range.
In the 78th minute a ball kicked over the Powick defence caught them flat and the Inkberrow striker volleyed low into the net to make the score 3-1.
One minute later Powick's Dave Wardroper scored after the visitor's keeper failed to hold onto a cross by Dave Buckley. The final goal came after some good build up by Phil Skilton and Nick Pullen for Dave Wardroper to score his second goal.
Man of the match was Dave Wardroper.
Tomorrow (Saturday) Powick are away to Kempsey.
