ARTY students at a Worcester college will be taking to the catwalk to support a city charity and to prove that looking great need not cost the earth.

Art and design students at Worcester College of Technology will be teaming up with BBC Hereford & Worcester's Action Desk to present a fashion show featuring clothes from Acorns' shops.

Eleven of the local radio station's presenters will join the students on the catwalk for next Wednesday's event.

Managing editor James Coghill said the evening would be a lot of fun, but added "making over" some of the presenters could be a challenge for the students.

"The students are very talented, although making over Dave Bradley will be their biggest challenge yet," he said.

The evening, which will include a raffle, will also have a collection of children's wear and a "Wild Things" show made up of clothes designed and modelled by the students.

Proceeds from the show will also go to the Acorns Three Counties Appeal to build a new children's hospice.

The event starts at 7.30pm at the college's school of art and design in Barbourne.

Tickets, which cost £5 and include a glass of wine, are available from BBC Hereford & Worcester's reception or by calling its Action Desk on 01905 856000.
