A NIGHT out for two Pershore brothers turned sour after a fight broke out.
Darren Swinbourne, aged 34 and Peter Swinbourne, aged 30, had been drinking in a pub in the town when a disagreement took place between them. The younger brother left his elder brother in the pub, Worcester Magistrates Court heard.
Suzanne Llewellyn, prosecuting, said two police officers were called to a fight in the High Street on Friday, October 11.
"They saw a group of people who were fighting on the pavement," she said.
"They (police) asked them to calm down and leave the area, they didn't do what the officers asked them to do."
Nick Roberts, defending, said the younger brother left the pub and was confronted by several other people outside.
"He was distressed and agitated, that led to his arrest," said Mr Roberts. "Darren was in the pub unaware of what happened. "He then attempted to intervene."
Darren Swinbourne, of Hardings Court, and Peter Swinbourne, of Little Priest Lane both admitted being drunk and disorderly in a public place at the hearing yesterday. Magistrates fined both men £50 and ordered them to pay court costs of £40 each.
