HUNDREDS of disgruntled bus users in Redditch face greater upset after it was revealed yet more services are to be axed.

From November 25, there will be a reduced service on the 61a, 178 and 179, which Pete's Travel took over from the town's main bus operator, First, almost a year ago.

When First announced it would be axing the popular routes last October, the Redditch Advertiser was inundated with calls from concerned residents left stranded without a bus service.

Rival firm Pete's Travel stepped in to take over the routes but just 12 months later, bosses have announced they will be reducing the services.

The 7.13am and 12.32pm on the 61a from Redditch will be dropped and the 4.52pm and 5.35pm will not run on Saturdays.

The 6.30am and 11.21am on the 178 from Redditch to Birmingham will be dropped and the 4.21pm will not run on Saturdays. The 12.45pm from Birmingham will be dropped and the 5.45pm will not run on a Saturday.

The 7.45am 179 route will also be dropped.

But as well as commercial routes, Worcestershire County Council transport chiefs are reviewing all subsidised services, which inevitably will be revamped and changed.

The blow for passengers comes on top of a recent shake-up by First which has already resulted in many residents being left without an adequate service.

The Advertiser has also been flooded with letters from angry bus users.
