A £60,000 mobile CCTV unit is to be used in Redditch for the first time on Friday night, police have revealed.
The van, which can be used around the clock, has been kitted out with state-of-the-art equipment to help police catch criminals on camera.
It is also hoped the highly visible Mercedes Sprinter van will prevent crime from taking place.
A computer has also been installed in the van to allow access to police databases.
Police believe the van will have a big impact on reducing the level of disorder and violent crime in the town centre on Friday and Saturday nights.
