A NURSE has been appointed in Droitwich Spa as part of a drive to improve health care for Multiple Sclerosis (MS) sufferers in the area.
The position has been funded by the Multiple Sclerosis Society within the MS Nurse Fund Programme.
Debi Holmes, an MS specialist, will be based at Droitwich Health Centre, in Ombersley Street East. She will be there to support patients and monitor the affects of new disease-modifying drugs, such as beta interferons and glatiramer.
The Nurse Fund aims to bolster MS health care in the UK, improve health professionals' knowledge and skills and to develop new services.
Debi is moving from Conquest Hospital, in Hastings, to take on her new community position.
The MS Society funds up to £20,000 of each post's salary for the first three years and provides cash for training which is delivered by the MS Research Trust.
