THE organisers of this year's Birmingham Tattoo will mark the Queen's Golden Jubilee celebrations by staging the annual event at the NIA in her honour.

And the Shuttle/Times and News has joined forces with the NIA to offer readers the chance to win one of five pairs of tickets to the Saturday show.

This year's event is expected to include more than 1,000 performers in a unique spectacle of light and sound.

Featuring some of the world's finest military musicians - combined with a wealth of other displays, including motorcycle and dog display teams, a massed chorus, and culminating in a spectacular grand finale - the event is expected to attract much interest in this Golden Jubilee year.

Producer Norman Rogerson, said: "We will be pulling out all the stops to make this year's Birmingham Tattoo the best yet as a special tribute to Her Majesty. We hope everyone will join us at what promises to be one of the largest displays of its type in the UK during 2002.

"With over 1,000 performers taking part, the National Indoor Arena will resound with the music and spectacle which has made the tattoo so popular, and will act as a fitting tribute to the 50th anniversary of Queen Elizabeth's accession to the throne."

Tickets are available for the Golden Jubilee Birmingham Tattoo on Saturday, November 23, at 7pm, and Sunday, November 24, at 2pm, from The NIA box office on 0870 909 4144 or can be booked on line at www.necgroup.co.uk/boxoffice.
