DROITWICH'S John Bick-erton was six shots off the lead after the first round of the Lancome Trophy.
Bickerton shot a one-under-par 70 in a near-regulation round, containing just two birdies and one bogey.
Nick Faldo remained hot on the heels of leader Alex Cejka when the second round got under way.
Cejka held a one-shot lead overnight after a seven-under-par 64, while Faldo was one of six players a shot further back.
The Czech-born German, in the first match out on the course from the 10th, quickly stret-ched his advantage to three shots with birdies at the 11th and 12th.
A bogey at the next however came moments be-fore Faldo holed from 20 feet for birdie and the gap was back to one.
