IN autumn, farmers are exceptionally busy harvesting the year's crops and preparing the soil for some of the next year's crops.

Life goes on steadily, with people and nature working together in godly har-mony to reap Earth's resources - gifts from a generous creator - God.

Threats of war put this co-operative spirit and godly harmony at risk. Honest dialogue to resolve international problems seems jeopardised. Surely honest dialogue to maintain peace is preferable to using weapons of mass-destruction which also kill innocent people?

The Bible says: "The Kingdom of God is about righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit . . . Let us pursue what makes for peace and mutual upbuilding." (Romans 14:19).

"You have neglected the weightier matters of the law - justice, mercy and good faith." (Matthew 23:23).

Why not join, or help establish a Justice and Peace Group to pray and work for peace, justice and international understanding?
