EXPRESS will be kicking themselves for losing this entertaining, yet frustrating first round Nursing Cup tie.

EXPRESS 88 FC 5, TURKS HEAD OLYMPIC 7

Turks Head got off the blocks quickest and tested Express keeper Gary Lloyd with some early efforts. However, Express weathered the early pressure and were rewarded through a Jason Lloyd strike on 10 minutes.

Turks equalised with a scrambled goal line effort, but Express fought back as Jamie Roberts converted a penalty just before half time.

Express extended their lead early in the second half through Jamie Roberts only for the visitors to claw the score back to 3-2.

Sean Clarke scored directly from a corner to restore the two-goal advantage and once the visitors had been reduced to ten men the game looked all but over.

But a spirited comeback from the visitors coupled with poor play by Express allowed the balance to shift in favour of the Bromsgrove team.

Poor defending by Summers, Finch and Bottomley allowed Turks Head to score five goals in the space of 15 minutes to which the Express could only muster an own goal in reply to leave the final score at 7 - 5 to Turks Head

Turks Head fully deserved there victory for their spirited comeback, but Express know the must perform much better in this weekend's long awaited local Division Two derby with Malvern Radar. All players to meet at Victoria Park at 9.45am.
