POWICK Sunday team entertained Ringspanners in this first round of the Nursing Junior Cup.
POWICK 5, RINGSPANNERS 1
With only three minutes gone Powick got their first goal when Phil Skilton pounced onto a shot from Rob Davies which the keeper could not hold.
Ringspanners then played some good football and nearly equalised on 20 minutes but for a fine save from Adrian Whittal-Williams.
Powick's second goal came from a corner, crossed over by Stuart Fish and from the resulting goal mouth scramble, James Baker forced the ball into the net. Powick scored goal number three again through a crowded penalty this time scored by Bryan Craven.
Five minutes before half time Stuart Fish crossed the ball over into the penalty area but the ball drifted over the Ringspanners' keeper and into the net.
The second half again started well for Powick. After two minutes Lee Richardson played well down the right, crossed the ball over to the far post where Rob Davies volleyed home to make it 5-0.
In the 75th minute Ringspanners got a consolation goal.
Man of the match was Chris Cooke.
On Sunday Powick are away to Coppertops in a league match.
