THE West came away from Bransford Rovers with three hard fought Worcester Saturday Division One points.

BRANSFORD ROVERS 1, WEST MALVERN 2

Although not playing to the best of their ability they still managed to secure the points.

The game was hard fought with Bransford taking the lead after 20 minutes. A shot from the edge of the box was deflected past keeper Newman.

The West came back strongly and from a through ball Alan Greens' shot was blocked but Will Hardy followed up to score. The West should have gone in front when they were awarded a penalty but from the resulting kick Lee Tracey put the ball over the bar. The West's luck held when Bransford seemed to have scored bang on half time but the ref had already blown for the interval.

The second half saw the West playing with the wind behind them and they increased the pressure. Although having numerous chances they failed to make the most of it. They finally got the break trough in the 70th minute when they were awarded another penalty when Will Hardy was pulled down by the keeper. From the resulting kick Will Hardy scored his second goal.

Although the West pushed forward using both their substitutes they failed to increase the score.

Tomorrow (Saturday) the West are at home to Fernhill Heath Sports, kick off 3pm, players meet 2.15pm.

The West are sponsored by Amey.
