MALVERN Town Action Group (MTAG) has taken two seats on the town council's most important committee - despite having formally resigned from all the body's committees, sub-committees and working parties.
Councillors Ralph Madden and Paul Tuthill were accepted on to the audit committee, which is responsible for overseeing all council activities, at a meeting on Monday.
Ironically, councillors who sit on the audit committee cannot sit on any other committee.
With nine MTAG members unavailable, non-MTAG town councillors have had to fill committees, meaning most were ineligible for a seat on the audit committee.
The three-member audit committee is chaired by non-MTAG councillor Graham Myatt.
