AFTER completely dominating the first half hour during which they took the lead, Radar completely lost their way for the rest of the match and in spite of having a player sent off, Star & Garter cruised to a comfortable victory.

EXEL STAR & GARTER 3, MALVERN RADAR 1

Radar took the lead after 25 minutes when Nial Henderson somehow avoided four challenges before cutting the ball back to Trevor Bagnall who scored from eight yards.

Phil Birch thought he had made it 2-0 only to have his effort ruled out for offside. The home side then seemed to take control and when the impressive Liam Yardley crashed in a great cross shot to equalize, Radar lost their way completely.

Chris Ball in the Radar goal needed to be on top form making three excellent saves before Yardley tapped in a second and sub Mark Birt curled in a great goal from the edge of the box.

Radar were restricted to a couple of long shots from Gary Harman which were just off target and a Tony Bishop shot which Star keeper Steve Lunn did well to palm away after taking a deflection.

Radar will have to liven up this Sunday for the big local derby against The Express, players meet 9.45am at Victoria Park.
