CCTV cameras are to be installed by an Upton landlord sick of late-night vandalism.
Steve Quaile, of the Talbot Head Hotel, said his business was one of half a dozen in the town centre to have windows smashed recently.
"This petty, mindless damage is just getting out of hand," he said.
Mr Quaile said he was convinced the trouble was caused by under-age youths drinking on the streets, not customers outside pubs.
Bill Dovey, chairman of the the tourism and trade association, has meanwhile condemned a proposal to make the town centre an alcohol-free zone. He believes this would penalise pubs that trade legitimately and whose customers do not break the law.
He suggested other solutions, such as CCTV and community-based police who recognise unruly youths.
