A BID to improve on an already impressive league standing is to be made by Upton Youth Band on Sunday.
The British Youth Bands' Association concert, at the National Indoor Arena, will be the final performance in a season that has seen the band move from seventh to fourth in the BYBA novice league.
Spokesman Nicki Taha said the band would be bidding to claw one place further up the rankings.
"With a little bit of encouragement and luck we could go up to third," she said.
This season has seen the band in six competitions, finishing third in the first four, second in the last two and clinching promotion from novice to cham-pionship level next season.
The AGM is on November 7, at 7pm, at Upton Sports Pavilion.
