CAMPDEN Town continued their impressive start to the Stratford and District Alliance season with a 4-1 win at Needlemakers Lions.

Rich Lewis bagged a brace in the Journal Premier Division clash and there was one apiece for Kevin Reason and Dan Taylor against the hosts who replied through Stuart Whalley.

The two Badsey-based sides had differing fortunes with United winning 2-1 at home to Henley Forest thanks to goals from Darren Attwood and Mino Vernaschi, while Rangers succumbed to a goal from Ivor Conway at FISSC.

Ben Vincent scored twice in Shipston's 4-2 reverse at Redditch, while Mark Schaus, Tunde Adeoye and Adam Phillips all went one better in Cutler Division Two.

Schaus's treble helped Shipston's second string overcome Dog and Pheasant, Adeoye's hat-trick helped Kenilworth Town sink Long Compton after a nine-goal thriller, while Phillips hit three of four in Alcester Cross Keys' win at Henley.

There were 13 goals and the same number of scorers in Herald Division One where there were wins for Sportsmans Arms and Tysoe United, while Alcester Lions and Badsey United Reserves and Ilmington Revolution all picked up a point from drawn games.

Blockley Sports were the sole survivors from a trio of county cup clashes. The Station Roaders overcame Great Rissington 3-2 but Campden Town's second string lost 2-1 at Northway in the same Gloucestershire Minor Cup competition.

Bidford's bid for Birmingham County FA Junior Cup glory ended at the first hurdle after a 3-1 home defeat at the hands of Binley Park Athletic.
