The West Malvern Garden & Nature Club meet next Tuesday, October 15, at 7.30pm at the village hall, when the guest speaker will be Gordon Forrest on Chaddesley Woods. Admission for non-club members is £1 and everyone is welcome.

Two events are lined up for the last weekend of October, when British Summer Time will end on Sunday morning, October 27, and the nights will suddenly draw in!

On Friday, October 25, there will be a coffee morning and bring and buy sale in aid of the Church Mission Society, and in particular the work of the Wickens family from West Malvern at St Pauls United Theological College in Limuru, Kenya. It will be held from 10.30am until 12 noon at the charming home of Crystal Pearce, Orchard Cottage, Park Road, which is incidentally reputed to be the oldest house in West Malvern. Further details from Crystal Pearce (tel: 573002); Jane Walker (572830) or the Rev. Rosemary Herbert (572497).

On Saturday, October 26, Roy Brazier and Rosemary are planning another churchyard working session, this time at the earlier hours of 10am to 2pm and, they add cautiously, weather permitting! Perhaps a bonfire, to keep everyone warm and get rid of the great amount of rubbish that has been cleared by the highly successful series of working sessions over the summer, would be an attraction to volunteers, all of whom will be welcome.
