Tuesday, October 1, 2002: I attended a School Governors Curriculum sub committe meeting at the Vale of Evesham School. As usual I was impressed at amount of work done by the staff of our schools.

Wednesday, October 2, 2002: At 12-15pm I was invited to attend the Citizens Advice Bureau Annual

General Meeting at the Wychavon Civic Centre in Pershore. It proved to be very interesting and was very informative, such a lot of work done by so many Volunteers. 8-pm I went to a" Quiz Night" at Raphaels, kindly organised by Sheleen and Paul Barratt in aid of the Mayor's Charity, the Quizmaster was John Raphael. It was enjoyed very much and the handsome sum of £50 was raised.

Thursday, October 3, 2002: I was joined by several fellow Councillors for the opening of the Mop Fair on Merstow Green at 7-00pm. This is a long established event and is part of Evesham History. With dry mild weather, it was very pleasant and was nice to see so many people enjoying themselves. We were treated to a buffet supper after a walk round the stalls and all concerned enjoyed Mr & Mrs Danter's hospitality.

Friday, October 4, 2002: My consort James and I went to the Foley Arms Hotel Malvern to the Mayor of Malvern's Masked Ball. It was a splendid evening and some of the masks were really very special. We both enjoyed the evening.

Sunday, October 6, 2002: 3-00pm saw my consort and I at the Stratford District Council Civic Service that was held at St. Andrews Church, Shottery. A full church and afterwards some light refreshments made it a very pleasant afternoon.

5-30pm I was at Hampton Ferry presenting the prizes for the Ladies Avon Championships that was fished in Evesham that day. The Winner was Julie Abbott who will now qualify to fish at the Saturday match of the Wychavon Angling Festival next August Bank Holiday.

Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is a mystery. Today is a gift. That's why it's called the present!
