PARENTS desperate to get their youngsters into their chosen high schools in Wyre Forest are urged to fill in their transfer forms quickly to be in with a chance of securing a place.

Information packs and forms have been distributed to every primary and middle school in the county to be passed on to pupils for their parents.

The deadline for applications is Friday, November 22 - with a warning that late applications could have a lower priority grading.

Last year some parents tried for a place at a school out of their catchment area, with their nearest school listed as a second choice.

But some missed out on their first choice and then found all the places at their nearest school had been filled.

"This was a problem for some families last year and it is our duty to ensure parents are aware of this when they fill their forms in."

Strict government guidelines set out the criteria for allocating places, and the rules are included in the information packs.

Anyone requiring a transfer pack should contact the Pupil Admissions and Transfers Office at County Hall on 01905 763763.
