THE chairman of a staff organisation at a women's prison near Bromsgrove has been found guilty of bullying her colleagues, a prison service spokesman has confirmed.
Wendy Parkes, the chairman of the Prison Officers' Association at Brockhill women's Prison, Tardebigge, has been suspended since February on charges of bullying staff.
She faced six charges and has now been found guilty by a disciplinary panel of three - two of using offensive behaviour and language to colleagues and one of failure to obey an order, the Prison Service said.
"She is still suspended and is now awaiting sentence," a spokesman said.
A final decision will be made by a governor from another prison and not Barbara Treen, the governor of Brockhill.
Prison Officers Association vice-chairman Steve Gillan said nothing had been decided about Miss Parkes' future.
He said he had been representing her during the hearings and he was waiting for the disciplinary panel to reconvene.
A decision on the sentence is likely within the next two weeks, the Prison Service said.
