A MEETING to show support for a service for Pershore youngsters will be held next month.

Pershore's Under 18 Drop-In Centre is under threat of closure if funds cannot be found by next April and its committee chairman Richard Bateman has organised a meeting at the Riverside Centre at 7.30pm for Wednesday, November 27.

The drop-in committee was refused a grant from Children In Need earlier this year, but will re-apply next month.

But if the money is refused again, the centre may be forced to close unless it can find alternative methods of funding.

Mr Bateman is already hopeful of support from the police and local schools, and has called for all supporters of the three nights a week service to attend.

He said: "We want people with ideas about what they want to do. We would be very keen to have people of influence whether they are from the county's youth service or the county council itself."
