TEN new trees are to be planted along a Pershore road after the town's rotary club teamed up with park maintenance contractors and Wychavon District Council.
Pershore Rotary Club and Fountain Landscapes made donations along with funding from the council, to provide the new River Birch trees, which will be along the footpath leading from Abbey Road opposite the school towards the Abbey.
The council said that River Birch is a more unusual form of birch and will be suited to wet winter conditions in a lower level of the park.
Three existing trees in poor health are to be felled and four younger trees lifted and replanted in another part of the park to enable the new trees to be best placed when planted early next year.
Parks officer Lynn Stevens said: "The sponsorship from Pershore Rotary Club and Fountain Landscapes is helping to improve the park for this and future generations.
"Wychavon welcomes such partnership schemes.
"If there are any other organisations interested in helping to improve their local area, please contact me at the Civic Centre in Pershore."
