THE Fathers and Sons Ramblers Cricket Club (FAS) raised adequate funds during its annual cricket week to make a donation to support youth cricket in the North Cotswolds.

Barry Dare, FAS founder said: "We are delighted to have raised £250 for young cricketers in the North Cotswolds.

"All the participants in the cricket week held in July, and based in Blockley, were enthusiastic about supporting Brian Gee and the North Cotswold Young Cricketers Club."

He continued: "With many father and son cricketing combinations in the FAS it is a natural fit to help in the development of youth cricket in this way.

"A slip catching cradle is a very important piece of equipment which should provide excellent training facilities for many years to come."

The club chairman said: "We are extremely grateful to Barry and the FAS Ramblers for their generous donation and support of our youth cricket development scheme.

"With limited funds, we are continually striving to improve our coaching facilities and equipment to benefit the increasing numbers of youngsters wishing to learn to play cricket in the region."

Every year since 1982 a cricket week has taken place based at Mill Dene in Blockley against sides in Gloucestershire, Warwickshire, Worcestershire and Oxfordshire.
