TO confirm a point raised in the letter of September 19 from Mr Evans (no relation), of Cardigan, this is a photograph of my boat "nestling under the willows" as he so poetically described in his letter.
Like him, I think it is a shame that more is not made of the quayside in Bewdley.
He is right that the river brings trade to the area when it is navigable. My boat is chartered throughout the summer and my clients enjoy food, drink and shopping at the various anchorages between Stourport and Upton-on-Severn - but, sadly, not at Bewdley.
As a boat operator in Stourport, I am often asked by customers if we can go upstream to Bewdley and they are disappointed when I tell them it is not possible.
Recently someone from Shropshire was surprised we could not take them all the way to Bridgnorth on the river.
