A DESERVED draw eluded Wyre Forest Brintons as they slipped to a 1-0 home defeat against Bridgnorth Town Reserves in West Midlands League Division One South.
Forest Brintons brought in Jack Wassell, Sam Pountney and keeper Simon Wills to bolster a defence that had conceded nine goals in three matches.
But in trying to bounce back from the previous week's poor display against Ludlow, they battled hard without finding the elusive goal.
Forest Brintons were first to pose a threat when Darren Raybould's snap-shot was well saved by Bridgnorth keeper Heseltine.
The home side had the better of the first half and should have scored just before the break when Raybould's cross found Andy Bayliss who headed over the bar.
Bridgnorth took the lead five minutes into the second half as Steve Crann headed past Wills.
But Forest Brintons tried to fight back with Heseltine twice equal to the challenge to save from substitute Richard Hughes.
In a last effort to grab a point, Darren Pace went in goal and Wills switched to striker but the equaliser was not to be despite a hard-working display from every player.
