BOWLS: Gilt Edge Bowling Club's new short mat season is off and running with Brintons A making the best start.
They recorded a 37-8 victory over Dire Straits who continued their bad opening with a 32-7 loss to Chestnuts.
Two matches produced 26-5 scorelines as Chester Road defeated Aces and Invincibles beat Squirrel.
Another convincing victory came for The Crusaders who triumphed 28-7 over Untouchables.
Invincibles scrambled two shots on the final end to draw 16-16 with Crusaders in the closest match.
Despite the big scores, the league leaders were Blakedown who took 11 of the 12 points available, followed closely by Chester Road.
