SAILING: Ray Drury's experience in calm conditions paid off handsomely as he trounced Jeff Waltier and Mike Stout in Trimpley Sailing Club's first GP14 race of the weekend.

Stout was forced to retire as conditions got worse for the second race, leaving Drury to finish well ahead of Waltier to win the Saturday GP14 series and handicap.

There were several interesting Sunday results, including well-earned wins for Michelle and Mark Tromans in the noon GP14 race from Clive Haycock and Mike Stout.

Mark Tromans beat club commodore John Dixon by just over 30 seconds.

Jeff Halford and crew Dawn Bradley easily beat Roger Stretton and Michelle Voges with the junior crew of Tom Fletcher and Andy Holden just a minutes behind.

John Hingley won the main GP14 series and Fletcher took the handicap series from Halford by just 0.25 points.

In the Laser class, Eddie Hillman continued to dominate, taking both the main and handicap series.

The commodore's efforts to take on Hillman ended in defeat by a minute-and-a-half.
