CUBS: On September 29 Eckington Cubs took part in the 5-a-side football tournament against eight other cub packs in the district. Thanks to the training skills of Martyn Poytress they fielded a strong team and everyone played brilliantly. The highlights were the 12 goals being scored, beating the champions (Peopleton) in a match and lots of cake to eat afterwards! Eckington Cubs ended the tournament in third place.
ACORNS CHILDREN'S HOSPICE: Eckington 1st School are having a non-uniform day tomorrow, with the children paying 50p each for the privilege and all money raised going to the hospice fund. A prize Bingo Evening in aid of Acorns Hospice is being held on Tuesday, October 22, 7.30pm at Eckington Village Hall.
