A COMPANY boss told how his family's Sunday night meal was interrupted by a group of young men making a noise at their block of flats.

Alan Dean and his son Jason were attacked when they went to complain about the racket in Orchid Court, Malvern, on September 2 last year, Worcester Crown Court heard.

Mr Dean, 54-year-old owner of a recovery company, told the jury that he was hit with a pool cue and rounders bat. Two of his front teeth were kicked out and he also suffered a fractured rib.

Darren Smith, aged 21, of Kipling Close, Simon Box, 29, of Ford Close, and Martin Boshell, 29, of Bluebell Close, all in Malvern, deny affray.

David Iles, prosecuting, said Jason Dean and his mother Lesley were also injured. The accused had gone to the flats to see another occupant, Scott Willis.

Mr Dean said he asked the three to leave so that they would not disturb an elderly resident. He denied a suggestion that he was armed with a screwdriver or knife.

The trial continues.
