A MEMBER of staff at a Broadheath bakery has been stabbed at work.
Police were called to Elisabeth the Chef, on Martley Road, yesterday at 3.35pm.
The man, who has not been named, was taken by ambulance to the Worcestershire Royal Hospital, where he remains with serious injuries.
He has asked for details of his condition not to be released to the Press, but his life is not thought to be in danger.
Officers were at the bakery making enquiries yesterday and an area of the site has been sealed off.
Police have launched an investigation into the assault.
The company, which is based in Warwickshire, refused to speculate on the circumstances surrounding the stabbing.
"I can't make any further comment at this stage," said Tony Harris, chief executive of Elisabeth the Chef.
"We're still waiting for more details."
