A PROMISING Hagley athlete has been selected to represent England in an indoor international at Glasgow in December.
Oliver McNeillis, from Haybridge High School, competes in the pentathlon, made up of eight events, and is the reigning county and midlands champion.
The 14-year-old almost added the national championships title to his collection last weekend, finishing just 81 points behind the winner.
In a field of more than 40, Oliver scored the highest in three of five events. His combined score of 3,047points was one of the highest all time scores in the junior boys pentathlon.
