BROMSGROVE Olympique Cycling Club will compete on home soil this Saturday when they host their second annual Cyclo-Cross event.

The meeting, in Sanders Park, off Kidderminster Road, will give 30 club riders as well as other competitors from across the midlands the chance to test their speed and technical ability on laps of the park.

Nationally recognised riders expected to be competing are Isla Rowntree, current Women's National Cyclo-Cross champion and Steve Knight, a former National Men's Cyclo-Cross champion.

Olympique's main hopes for success lie with Craig Talbot in the U12s category and Will Goulbourne in the U16s, both of whom won their respective events last Saturday.

The number of laps are determined by age group and need to be completed within a set time period.

Cycling starts at 11am for U12s with the adults expected to start at 2pm.
