A GREEN-FINGERED schoolgirl was over the moon when she arrived back from her summer holiday to find she had scooped a gardening award.
Susie Sale, of Aston Fields Middle School, entered the fuchsia competition at Webbs of Wychbold after taking part in a school eco-group.
The group, run by Karen McNamara, planted their fuchsias in the spring and then took them home to nurture them before entering them into the garden centre's contest.
Ten-year-old Susie was away on holiday when the winners were announced so she did not find out about her victory until she got back to the Drummond Road school. She was awarded a trophy for her efforts.
School spokesperson Rashu Brauchli said: "We are all very pleased for her."
