MEMBERS of the Droitwich Ladies Lifeboat Guild held a fundraising champagne reception and dinner at the home of Mr and Mrs Rex Simpson, of Doverdale.
Digby Jones, the director general of the CBI, was the guest speaker and he gave a lively and interesting talk. Lady Patricia Sandys, guild president, gave an amusing vote of thanks.
The evening, which was organised by committee member Ann Amphlett, raised almost £400 for the RNLI.
