DEAR EDITOR - As former Head of Art at South Bromsgrove High School I am very aware of the aesthetic and artistic value of St John's church..

In the teaching of A level Art, I have encouraged students to appreciate their environment and several have focussed on the varied architecture in the town. Indeed, the Bromsgrove Society published an excerpt from one such study in its newsletter and presented the student with a financial reward, so demonstrating their appreciation of the depth of thought and forward looking suggestions from the younger generation.

As a card carrying member of the Bromsgrove Society I wholeheartedly support the suggestion from Dr Alan Richards that the church presents a prefect opportunity for the society to once again show its appreciation by making a substantial donation to help preserve the town's visual focal point for future generations.

If the newsletter were to be used as a forum to initiate a debate among members I feel sure that Dr Richards' proposal for the Jubilee project would have majority support.
