FAIRFIELD Villa ripped up the form book to win 2-0 at Endsleigh Challenge Cup holders Coventry Sphinx.
Villa showed little respect for their Midland Combination premier division opponents as Ray Peters and Wayne Davies fired Fairfield through to round three.
Villa controlled the first 20 minutes but it remained goalless at the break.
The second half was ten minutes old when Villa made the breakthrough.
A Neil Gallagher pass sent Ray Peters clear and he calmly steered the ball wide of the goalkeeper.
Adie Summers, in the visitors' goal, kept the lead intact with two good saves.
Villa made the game safe three minutes from time when man of the match Wayne Davies finished off a five man move.
