FREE-scoring Fairfield Villa Ladies went to the top of the league and kept their 100 per cent start to the season with a 7-1 victory at Knowle.

Fairfield, who scored eight goals last week, ran home easy winners despite a below par performance.

It took the visitors 20 minutes to get on the score sheet when Sarah Lewis burst through the Knowle defence and slotted the ball into the corner.

Five minutes later Shez Donnelly scored a spectacular free kick from the right hand touchline and Mel Bunn's powerful run and shot made it 3-0 five minutes before the break.

Fairfield were four up 60 seconds after the restart through Kelly Godfrey and continued their improved display with Bunn's second.

Sarah Lewis capped an outstanding performance with her second and Fairfield's sixth.

Knowle scored a consolation goal when a tame shot bizarrely evaded Fairfield's goalkeeper and defender on the line.

Godfrey scored a carbon copy of her first goal to finish the hosts off.

Fairfield entertain Leamington this Sunday.
