REVIEW - Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat at the Festival Theatre, Malvern (until October 12).

THE excited chatter beforehand, people telling each other it's the 'umpteenth time I've seen this show', the audience participation and a standing ovation at the end once again underlined the appeal and enjoyment ofJoseph.

It is a piece of theatre you never tire of seeing.

Often described as possibly one of the best musicals given to us by the incomparable partnership of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice, it is almost impossible to disagree.

No wonder it is now in the Guinnes Book of Records as the longest running touring stage musical of all time.....now approaching 20 years!

It's enjoyable from start to finish, with some great songs, and once again there were memorable performances from a cast which clearly enjoyed being on stage and giving the audience full value for money.

The show's return to Malvern has a new Joseph - Arvid Larsen, who has enjoyed recent success as Jesus in a nattional tourof Jesus Christ Superstar.

Superb voice, with great backing from the musicians, and with other excellent performances all round such as Trevor Jary (Pharaoh/Simeon) and Vivienne Carlyle (Narrator).

It's still, after all these years, a must not miss show. VW
