CRIMINALS who prey on farms and country homes are being targeted by a new project in Evesham.
Farmwatch was due to be launched by PC Charlie Cavendish and PC Roy Storr at the BBC Club in Evesham's High Street at 7.30pm today.
An existing scheme has been operating successfully in the Pershore and Droitwich areas for a number of years.
The system works via an early warning telephone system. People living in rural areas can also speak to their beat manager about suspicious activities or any concerns they may have.
Invitations have been issued to more than 30 farmers and horse owners in the area, and there is a general invitation to all farmers and any person interested in joining the scheme.
Anyone wanting more information about the scheme can contact PC Cavendish on 01905 723888 ext 3631.
